When a party, attorney, or self-represented litigant has engaged in conduct that violates Maryland Rule 1-341 (frivolous or bad-faith filings), discovery abuse, or other sanctionable behavior, a Motion for Sanctions asks the court to impose penalties including monetary awards, dismissal of claims, or other corrective relief.
