Comprehensive Legal Support for Maryland Families
Divorce & Separation
We provide legal representation and advice for marriage, separation and divorce matters. We also write settlement agreements and other marriage, separation, and divorce contracts.
Guardianship
Need to be able to provide care for a minor in place of that minor's parents? Do you have a disabled or differently abled person who you need to provide care for? Or maybe there is an elderly person in your life who requires additional care and someone to make decisions for them. We can help with this.
Child Support
Are you seeking help with supporting your child? Or maybe you need a reduction in the amount of child support you pay. We provide representation and advice in child support matters.
File it Yourself
When one parent seeks a change to the existing custody arrangement and the other objects, this contested version gives you the documents needed to pursue modification through the court. Documents include an adversarial motion with best-interest analysis, a memorandum in support, a motion for temporary modification where immediate changes are needed, and your proposed amended parenting plan. An optional 30-minute phone consultation is available with this package.
What's Included:
Optional 30-minute phone consultation with a Family First Legal attorney is available with every package. The consultation is recommended if you are unsure what to file, but is not required. If you elect the consultation, document drafting begins after the consultation is completed. If you waive the consultation, drafting begins upon receipt of your completed intake questionnaire.
Motion to Modify Custody (adversarial language, best-interest factors addressed, material change argued)
Proposed Parenting Plan (your requested modifications)
Document Request and Discovery Packet
Step-by-step filing instruction letter
Important Notes:
Original case number and existing custody order required.
Service of process is the client’s responsibility.
Child support not addressed — see Combined Modification package.
Court filing fees not included.
Contested custody modification hearings and evaluations require full representation.
Turnaround 7-10 Business Days
Are you and your spouse in full agreement and ready to make your separation official? This package covers an uncontested Absolute Divorce where the parties have no minor children and have already resolved (or do not have) issues of property and debt. Under Maryland’s October 2023 law changes, you may file immediately on Mutual Consent grounds (no waiting period) if both parties sign a written settlement agreement, or after a 6-month separation on Irreconcilable Differences grounds. Every required document is drafted and ready for courthouse filing. An optional 30-minute phone consultation with a Family First Legal attorney is available with this package.

Turnaround 5-7 Business Days
When both parties reach an agreement on a specific issue during the pendency of a case — a temporary parenting schedule, an agreement about use of property, a temporary support arrangement, or any other matter — that agreement should be memorialized in a Consent Order signed by both parties and submitted to the court for entry. This package drafts the Consent Order in proper Maryland format, ready for both parties to sign and the court to enter. An optional 30-minute phone consultation is available.
Includes:
Consent Order / Agreed Order (attorney-drafted, court-ready format)
Signature blocks for both parties (and counsel if applicable)
Certificate of Service
Step-by-step submission instruction letter
Notes:
Both parties must agree on all terms before this package is ordered.
This package does not include a Final Judgment — it is for interim/temporary agreed orders within an active case.
For final settlement agreements or divorce judgments, see Part I packages.
Turnaround: 2–3 business days from intake receipt (or after consultation if elected).
